Better Camps - The Holiday Academy of Creative Development

Children should not get bored during the summer holidays. This will not be the case in Pasym (on the lake Kalwa) at the Academy of Creative Development. Each day, throughout camp, children will participate in a specially designed program that involves having fun while learning valuable skills. For the rest of the day, children can swim in the pool, on boats, play by the lake, play soccer, volleyball and basketball - time filled to the brim. The prize – an abundance of skills that will be necessary for the future. In the beautiful scenery of Mazury anything is possible and dreams of children have a chance to become real.

Programs

*Stellar Captain - children aged 7-10
In this program, children will enhance thinking skills, learn how to create computer codes, solve exciting puzzles, learn about astronomy (e.g. by observing changes in the sky), and participate in simple science experiments to spark interest in chemistry, physics and biology (e.g. children under strict trainer supervision will construct real rockets filled with baking soda and vinegar...that actually shoot into the air!, build kites, etc.). They will also learn tricks, play card and math games, such as Mancala - the oldest board game in the world. Even those children that find math an intimidating subject will enjoy playing this game.The Star captains, together with their coaches, will discover Hnefatafl - a strategic "Vikings" board game. During the game, children will not learn to count as they would in a classroom. Instead, they will keep a tally of points to identify the winner, thus, learning maths through play. Children, together with their coaches, will create costumes, script and stage sets for their own games and will take on characters from their favorite fairy tales, books and films. Our second program Creative Leader includes activities that will lead children to many surprising discoveries. Games and exercises, such as running with an egg, will help children concentrate, teach them to actively listen and make good decisions. Other skills that will be developed through sport include teamwork, coordination, formulation and implementation of rules, motivating others, dealing with competitive situations and accepting defeat with dignity and respect. During the course of the program children will learn to recognize their feelings and needs and how to communicate them to others. They will also learn how to build self-esteem from within in order to effectively deal with peer pressure.Through play, children will develop leadership skills such as strategic thinking, effective communication, active listening, decision-making and creativity and learn to behave in accordance to a specific values system. All camps conclude with a presentation of certificates from the Academy and a group photo of our brave little troopers.

*Creative Leader - children aged 10-13
Our second program Creative Leader includes activities that will lead children to many surprising discoveries. Games and exercises, such as running with an egg, will help children concentrate, teach them to actively listen and make good decisions. Other skills that will be developed through sport include teamwork, coordination, formulation and implementation of rules, motivating others, dealing with competitive situations and accepting defeat with dignity and respect. Both programs, Star Captain and the Creative Leader, were developed by Anna Zawadzka (founder of Better Leaders Academy) specializing, among other things, in the implementation of programs in the field of Leadership. Anna is also a practitioner. Together with experienced coaches and children, she participated in 250 hours of activities based on these programs. Anna found that the children thoroughly enjoyed what she had prepared for them.These programs were designed especially for children who were curious about the world, and were active and wanted to improve their skills. These programs develop and shape the character. Children learn how to have fun in a group, respect others, compete through play, and accept defeat with dignity and respect.The programs were carefully designed to help children gain the knowledge required for their future development and to courageously pursue increasingly challenging goals.
